Saxon Audio CD500

Based upon the top of the range CD700 this is a 'top down' design using many of the main elements that make that player so good. Built around the same L1210 Philips mechanism this player compromises only in the power supply which although based on a single transformer still has separate windings for the various digital and analogue functions. In order to reduce costs we have omitted the balanced outputs whilst cosmetically the front panel has been reduced in thickness to 6mm.

As a result of this 'top down' philosophy we can use the same digital processing and analogue output PCB offering not only a similar performance but with the added bonus of an upgrade path for your future.

The extensive use of high-quality surface mount components throughout the range, is a testament to the care and dedication that has gone into creating this CD player.

The result is a highly musical CD player which is nothing short of amazing value for money. When compared with other more clinical and artificial-sounding alternatives the improvement gained is a welcome 'breath of fresh air'. If partnered with the matching A500 integrated amplifier a system of incredible performance is created.
